Challenge
Argos’ parent Home Retail Group agreed to a £1.4 billion takeover by the UK supermarket chain Sainsbury’s. The acquisition was completed and the business became part of a division named Sainsbury’s Argos.
As part of this merger, the businesses wanted their combined colleagues to understand what the other business was all about in terms of culture, pace and the synergies they would bring as a collective.
Solution
As part of a wider marketing and internal communications project, the business required a fast paced commercial to highlight the sectors Argos are involved in and the turnover produced by each. The solution required acquiring data from 30 in Individual sectors of the business, and an video animation was decided. This would capture the essence of what Argos was all about highlighting the statistics on screen.
Outcome
The commercial was shown to over 250k colleagues and distributed through screenings at their large commercial centres, depots and warehouses through the UK. The videos were also used at conferences and shared through the intranet.
